Fall 2024-2025

Express Yourself through Dance

Located via zoom

About us

We are a Jewish dance studio with a welcoming, judgement-free, home-like atmosphere. We have teachers who really teach the girls to dance by working on technique and artistry. At the end of the year, we put on a performance and you can show your friends and families what you have accomplished. We like to keep our classes on the smaller side, so that we can really give each dancer attention, and help each one out. We have classes for kids and adults at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. We offer instruction in ballet and contemporary/lyrical

Kids and adults are invited. Follow your dreams and we will help make them a reality! ❤️

I’m thrilled to share that I recently got married in June and have relocated to Israel for this year (or possibly longer). During this time, I’m available to offer private or group classes on zoom for those who are interested. Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect and learn more!

Ballet classes via zoom (ages 9+)

Ballet is a formal style of dance with its origins in the French court. It is a beautiful and graceful form of dance with its own vocabulary, which we will learn in our sessions.

Contemporary/lyrical via zoom (teens and adults)

Contemporary dance is a style of interpretive dance that embraces innovation, blending techniques from various genres, including classical ballet, jazz, modern dance, and lyrical dance. In this class, we will be working on technique for jumps and turns and towards the end of class, we will use what we worked on in class to learn choreo. The music is only Jewish music or instrumental.

When I started ballet, I had no clue what to do. That’s why I came to Yael. She made me feel so comfortable and was super fun. She had so much patience with me, and helped me through every step. Yael has many years of experience and her teaching shows it. She goes step by step, and will repeat it as many times as necessary. Yael has motivated me to become the best dancer I can be. Her easy to follow steps made it so simple to follow to the music and choreography. I’m so grateful to have such a wonderful teacher. I would definitely recommend anyone who has a passion to follow their kosher dancing experience to take some lessons at NYJD.

Taking Ballet with Yael for the past year and a half has been a life changing experience. It enhanced my discipline while building my confidence. I gained the ability to multi-task and maintain focus within my body. I had so much fun prepping for my rehearsal and felt so proud of my accomplishments. Yael was a great teacher, patient and kind. I am grateful for my ballet experience.
